Johnston was born 1887, and I had heard that he never married. However, the similarity of the names makes me wonder if these two Guys are father and son. I've now applied for a death index search on my Guy and will pursue his obit after that. If the obit mentions a son, I'll know to to check on the Guy who passed away in 1993. Thanks again!

You didn't mention your cousin's birth date or approximate age, which might be helpful in looking for a death record. Guy H. Johnston born 12 Mar 1912 died 26 Jan 1993 last residence Mount Ayr, Ringgold, Iowa SSN issued in Iowa (Before 1951) 482-14-7387

Augusta was born in Maine, daughter of Abraham Young and Eliza Grover. She had several brothers and sisters: Emily Elizabeth, Bothwell, Grimsley, Augusta, Edwin and Lucy Jane. Somehow they migrated to Illinois. Abraham was remarried to Hannah Owen in Boone county on 12-20-1849. Not sure what happened to Eliza. Augusta's second marriage was to Russell Arthur December 5, 1857 in Charles City, Iowa. She married Stephen R. Olney July 29, 1865 also in Charles City. I do have her children with each of these men if you want it. My great-grandmother Sarah Augusta Grow was from her first marriage to David Grow. Sarah married Thomas Bucknell and had several children, one of them being my grandfather, Arthur. If you are interested, let me know. I'd also like anything you have on the Olney side if you care to share. Thanks, Sueanne

It was Stephen 1st marriage and Augusta 3rd. Stephen and Augusta had four children: Rachel who married Edward Church. (The Ritta Olney eho married Edward in Floyd I'm 95% sure is Rachel. If you want my reasoning let me know), Gerdon, Florence who married Fred Makepeace and Warren. Warren died about a month after his mother. If you go to the web site Mike mentioned you will find his obit I have children for Florence, Rachel and Gerdon if you want them. Stephen was born in Chenango Co., NY and was the son of Rensselar Olney and Rachel Ireland. Did Augusta have only one child by her 1st marriage? I would like the name of Sarah's husband and her children. Thanks Marguerite.

    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Zk.2ADE/689.1.1 Message Board Post: The Nashua Reporter has a very short article recording the death of Augusta Olney on 1 Nov 1901, age 65. Indicates Carrville. Several references in other articles in 1907 of Stephen Olney in Carrville passing and several families from Bradford going to funeral, ie. Howdeshell, Bucknell, Perkins. WPA records have Everett, Gordon, and Harold G. Olney buried at Oak Hill and S. R. Olney buried in Floyd County. There is a Joe Bucknell buried in Greenwood. The IAGenWeb Site at http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/ has three hits when you enter Olney in the search box. One of them is confusing - it appears to record an Olney death at about the time of Augusta's. Also has one on a Warren Olney. If any of these are of more interest to you please let me know and I'll get more details for you. Sincerely, Mike Peterson

Wick of this city, to Mr. L.D. McKee of Osage, the ceremony being witnessed by only a few relatives and close friends of the bride and groom. Rev. Frank W. Court pronounced the vows, the ring ceremony being used. The bride wore a handsome gown of charmeuse and carried white roses. After the ceremony, the wedding party went to the home of the groomÂ’s mother, Mrs. Mae McKee, in that city, where a wedding dinner was served, and that evening the bride and groom left for Flandreau, S.D. where the groom owns a shoe store and where they will be at home to their friends after April 1. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. H.I. Wick of this city and she graduated from the Nashua High School with the class of 1910, and since then has been one of the successful rural teachers of the community, except one year which she spent attending the Cedar Valley Seminary at Osage, and it was while there that she met the young man who won her for his bride. For four years she taught continuously, except two terms in the Swinton School and her length of service there is a testimonial to her ability as a teacher. She is a young woman of charming personality and will make a good helpmate to the man who has chosen her to preside over his home. The groom is a stranger to most of our people but is highly spoken of by those who know him. He recently purchased an interest in a shoe store at Flandreau. The best wishes of many friends will be extended to them in their new estate. Those from here who attended the wedding were; James H. Wick, brother of the bride, and Mr. O.R. Laird and Miss Gladys Potter. Miss Pearl Thomas of Charles City was also a guest. Nashua Post- [circa 1915] found in a scrapbook, I am not related-
