The site already exists - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/ . I am looking for someone willing to keep it updated and to continue to add information to it. If anyone is interested, I can provide more details in private email. I am coordinator for three counties and recently one opened up which is where my ancestors lived for some time. I just can't take on a fourth and do them all a good service so am looking for a coordinator to take over the most mature of the three. So if you have a knowledge of html, or a desire to learn it, and have an interest or ties to Chickasaw please email me. The state needs to approve any volunteers but rather than putting Chickasaw up for adoption, I thought I would contact those who I thought might have an interest. Once someone decides they would really like to commit to it, then I will put them in contact with the appropr! iate state person. Sincerely, Mike Peterson geanie@cox.net

In 1900 Census there is a Jesse Weed, b. 1882 Iowa, age 17, parents born in Iowa. In 1895 Iowa Census there is a Jesse in Jefferson, Fayette, Iowa. Same year in Jefferson is a 45 year old Frank Weed born in Wisconsin and a 21 year old Frank Weed born in Iowa. Also a 44 Mary Weed born in New York. In 1910 census Frank and Mary still there, same b. place for Frank, Wisconsin. In 1850 there is a 9 year old Frank Beach living a home which also contains a 29 year old Harriet Weed. In 1860 19 year old Frank is living in Beach home in Dayton, Chickasaw Co which includes a Harriet Beach so this matches to one of the stories I've referenced below. There is a Mary Weed on this page - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/bios1883history.htm - from New Hampshire. There is a Frank Weed story on this page - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/historypowers1894.htm - which is also told on this page in another way - http://iagenweb! .org/chickasaw/history1883chickasawalexander.htm . I found this entry on this page - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/cemeterygraceland.htm - "Hiram J. Weed 1851 Ohuo-1937 Lot 242 wife Anna R. Briwn 1860-1938" which indicates a Weed family from Ohio. There is a Frank B. Weed buried in Wilson Grove Cemetery in Sumner which is in neighboring Bremer County (Civil war veteran Co. E. 9th Ia Cav.) nativity-Wis. (Plot shows lot 29 belongs to J. Weed) Bremer County Burial Records Vol 1 - 4. There is a Frank B. Weed who married Hannah D. Runion on 24 Dec 1865 in Chickasaw and a Frank B. Weed married a Ada M. Frazee on 21 Dec 1870 in Chickasaw. Probably more data than you want. Hope it helps. If I can help further please let me know. Sincerely, Mike Peterson

The "GPP" is thought to be the largest online collection of gravestone photos anywhere on the Internet. The project, which was introduced in January 2003, allows genealogy researchers to search its large database for surnames of interest within any of Iowa's 99 counties or by doing a full statewide query. Researchers and volunteers can also quickly upload their digital images of gravestones to add to the database. There is no charge to search the database or to add one's own photos. The Iowa Gravestone Photo Project is part of the IAGenWeb and can be found at: http://iowagravestones.org "Thank-Yous" go out to every one of you who have played a role in the success of the Gravestone Photo Project these past 21 months. Those of you who have not yet visited the site are encouraged to do so. If you have digital photos of your ancestors gravestones, you will find them easy to add to the database. The result could be contact with yet-to-be-discovered cousins interested in the same surnames. Rich Lowe IA Gravestone Photo Project Coordinator http://iowagravestones.org

I did not know there was so much info on the census. This has confirmed some details, such as both Alfred's parents being born in the UK - they both moved to NZ about 1860. But I had thought that Alfred moved to the USA much earlier than 1904. Still, he was born in 1879, so I guess 25 was an appropriate age for a young man to strike out into a new country. Again many thanks for the info. Do you have any suggestions as to how I could find whether Fanny and Rosemary married, and if so, who to? Barbara

From the United States Census of 1920, Detroit City, Wayne County, Michigan.(I apologize if you already have this info) Alfred Littleproud, Lillian, Rosemary, Fanny, a boarder with the last name of RUSSELL, another boarder with the first name O'connell. Alfred is listed as being 40 yrs old. Lillian 42, Rosemary 5, and Fanny is 2. Alfred at this time owns the home they are living in on Horton Street. This will change by 1930. Alfred was born in NZ and is a draftsman in the auto industry. Lillian is unemployed and Rosemary is in school. Rosemary and Fanny were both born in Michigan, USA. Census of 1930, Highland Park, Michigan. Alfred now lives on Elmhurst Street, renting a place for $75 a month. He is 50, Lillian is 53 Rosemary 16, and Fanny 13. This lists both parents of Alfred's as being born in England. The year Alfred came to the US is listed as 1904. He is still a draftsman. Everyone is listed as being able to read and write. Not much here, but maybe something you didn't know before. I hope I've been helpful! Take care, Mary

The baby and I are well, thanks, as is the rest of the family. The state census info is interesting. I have the 1900 one. Laura is living with her son, Osgood WAITE (her previously married name) and his wife Maude. Aaron is listed further on in the census living as a boarder at Whitcomb MOON's place, still a Blacksmith. All listed as living in Nashua Town. I remember you telling me you'd been in contact with Dorothy's son a while back. Is he the one living in Silver Springs, MD? My Aunt lives not far from there in Baltimore. A swinger, huh? Interesting relatives we have. Makes it fun! Take care, Mary
