    3. How very kind of you Glenda ! I hope the picture finds a home. I know that the family was in Chickasaw but unless someone leaves the surname(s) they are researching on our county site - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/surnameindex.htm - then it is difficult to find living descendants. The only thing I could do now to help is if you can send me a scanned copy of the photo - I could then put it on the web site - probably on this page - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/whoarethey1.htm - even though you know who they are. 3. Hi Glenda ! I'm not sure what you mean by looking for 'descendants.' Living? Or, descendants of these individuals through a census. If you would let us know specifically what you are looking for I would be happy to do some research for you. I did go to the IAGenWeb Chickasaw at - http://iagenweb.org/chickasaw/ . I entered each surname separately into the search box and got seven hits on Markle, including a bio of Izettie's father; two hits on Rehorst; and several on the two different Shaffer's. 1. West family 1900
    2. Hi, I am trying to find out about Chickasaw Co. around 1900. My West family was in the 1900 Census for Chickasaw. They could not have been there very long, and I am wondering why they were there. I have a Charles West, born in Indiana 1857, moved to Poweshiek Co. about 1884. Married in Poweshiek Co. in 1888. He was still in Poweshiek Co. in 1894. He is in the 1900 Chickasaw Co., Census. His Obit. indicates he moved to Wayne Co., IA. about 1902. I am interested in 1895-1902 Chickasaw Co. I would appreciate your recommendations for sources (especially online resources) for information relating to Chickasaw Co. around 1900, and these associated surnames: Blake, Collins, Dee, Powers, Young, West Sincerely, Cindy in Oregon

I talked with another cusin in Mich from her side of the family and she staes her last name when she died was Harger not Harder. This cousin is in her late 80's and would be the only person to know.
