Michael wrote: Is there any Purcell Michael, Clinch John, Clynch John, Ahern, or Carroll listed on the film. Hi Michael, I found a Michael CARROLL in The History of Frederickburg, page 101. He was born in Ottawa Co, Ohio. Parents were from Ireland. Michael moved to Frederickburg in 1865. Owned land in Stapleton township. Spent most of his time in town. He went back to Ohio several times. Rebuilt a house in town and rented it. He went back to Ohio on business and was taken sick and died. Did not find anything on the other names. Hope this is the CARROLL you are looking for. Carolyn

Hi Gene, In The Early History of New Hampton, Iowa, by Virginia Alice Gable (1933) page 1, fourth paragragh: In 1833, Bradford was designated as the county seat, and the following officers were elected on April 3, 1854: James Lyon, judge; S.C. Goddard, clerk; John Campbell, treasurer and recorder; D.A. Babcock, prosecuting attorney; and Andy Sample, sheriff. The only record which shows the date of this election is James L. Frazee as bondsmen, (this was preserved from the woodbox) and filed in the county judge's office on April 12, 1854. Legend says that S. C. Goddard resigned as county clerk and that J.A.J. Bird was appointed to fill the vacancy. Little Turkey Cemetery lists F.K. Goddard, died 8 July 1898, age 64 years. Hope this helps. I did not find anything on CERO. Carolyn

I would very much appreciate information on the Goddards that you could dig up. I recently asked for information on my father in law Teddy Joe Cero.Since then my wife and I met with her sister and she also said she remembers visiting their grandparents in Bassett. They both said the home was in town and one cousin said that both Joe and Jessie are buried in Bassett. Anyway my wife's grandparents Joe and Jessie Cero had six children. Charlie,Dewey,Mildred,Bill, Teddy Joe (my father in law) and Joe who was killed in the 2nd world war. Hope you can do me some good. Gene

Hi Bonita, My searching is from late 1850's to 1926 in Chickasaw County. I don't have a library of helpful sources, but presently have on loan at the local LDS library a film on Chickasaw Co. It has many family bibles, history of the county, and history of many churches, some cemeteries and burials in Cagley Cemetery and a couple others. I would be happy to do look up's for any one, while I have the film. Carolyn in Arizona
