In the 1850s my great grandfather left Cedar County to come to Oregon as an emigrant. His name was Samuel Casebeer. I know that a lot of Casebeers lived in and near Tipton at that time. Reba Kemery, the author of Casebeers in America, included a number of letters from Casebeers to Casebeers in her book. She also used the Tipton Public Library for she credits that agency in her book.
