Hi guys! My name is Diana Hanson and I am the internet host of the IAGenWeb page for Cedar County, Iowa. I live in nearby Anamosa, just 18 miles away and travel to Tipton (the county seat) and Lowden (my home of my children's grandfather) quite often to do genealogy. This past summer my 16 year old daughter and I canvased all the cemeteries in the Lowden area and redid two of them, Van Horn and the Trininty Lutheran Cemetery. They are currently onine at the IACedar County GenWeb page. Our next goal is to do the cemeteries in the other towns, going straight west on Highway 30 and then doing the other towns such as Tipton. However, if you need a lookup in any of them, don't hesitate to ask. They were done in the 30's and the 50s so other records do exist. I am putting together a Cedar County IA Genealogical History 1998 this year and would request, if possible, that everyone send in their pedigrees and accompanying family information for inclusion. This is FREE! You don't have to pay anything to have your family included. I did this two years ago for Jones County and we ended up with over 15,000 names. Also, be aware that if you submit your families and you are missing birth, marriage, and death dates in Cedar County, I will automatically look them up at the Recorder's office. Free service! Besides, I'm there anyway! :) Check out the Cedar County pages. If there's anything you'd like to see get done let me know. I'm working on adding more marriages right now. I have the entire index at home for the first volumes but am a little slow at getting them online.
