Her father Jacob PETERSEN (1866-1945) was born in Fesholm, Schleswig Germany, he is the son of Paul PETERSEN, (both are buried in the Manning City Cemetery). Jacob came to Carroll County, Iowa, about 1882. He was married in Manning to Catherina Marie CARLSON (1865-1908) in 1886. Their children are: Carl PETERSEN married Clara SCHROEDER; Caroline "Lena" Christina married John Frederick GRIMM; Maria Catherine married William MISSELHORN; Alma Pauline married George Andrew PETERSEN; Lilly Irvina married Herman NISSEN; Malinda Naemi married Walter GRAGE.
