Surnames: Loudenback McNelley, Alexander, Bratton, Edgar, Kemp Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Gk.2ADI/1085 Message Board Post: Here is some birth, death, and marriage information I found in the family Bible, which belonged to Jacob Lowdenback and Mary Ann McNelley. It isn't clear to me whether Lowdenback is spelled with a "u" or "w", but it looks like a "w" to me. Jacob Lowdenback and Mary Ann McNelley were married June 1, 1851 at Canton, Illinois. Jacob Lowdenback was born Nov 14, 1825 and died March 21, 1912. (Notes from my grandmother and father: He was born in Kentucky, and moved from Frankfurt, Kentucky to an area south of Paola, Kansas, sometime around the time of the Civil War. Jacob had a brother, W. H. Lowdenback . I have a notation about S.C. Lowdenback, a photographer in Pleasant Home, Kentucky. He may have been a son of W. H. Lowdenback.) Mary Ann McNelley was born April 21, 1833 and died Feb 20, 1912. Mary Ann McNelley's parents were John C. McNelley (born June 26, 1812, died January 3, 1892) and Isabel Edgar ( born July 28, 1809, died February 5, 1877). (Notes from my grandmother and father: Mary Ann McNelley's parents were well off with land near Louisburg, Kansas. Mary Ann McNelley had 3 brothers (one might have been Andrew) and no sisters.)
