His mother was Susan ANNEAR (nee THOMAS) who was born in Tredegar, Wales, UK. I believe his father was William ANNEAR and worked at a Copper Miner in America. I do know all the family were out in America in 1871 as I can find no record of them on the 1871 census records for Cornwall, England. On the 1881 census records for Cornwall, England, Susan ANNEAR was staying with her mother Johanna THOMAS in Redruth, Cornwall, England with her other children Thomas age 15 born in Redruth, Minnie age 13 born in Redruth, Susan age 11 born in Redruth, Charles age 8 born in Lake Superior, America, Lilian age 2 born in Redruth. Their father does not appear on the census form, so I guess would still be working in America. But on the 1891 cenus form Susan is down as a widow, so I am taking it that her husband died in a mining accident in America. Doe anyone know where Lake Superior is? If so do you know of any copper mines near there? Lastly where would I get a birth certificate for someone born in Lake Superior, America. Jackie
