Death was due to a general breakdown, brought on by her extreme age, and came to her as a relief from suffering. Short funeral services were held here at the DeFord Funeral Home Monday afternoon, conducted by Rev H M Sippel, pastor of the Christian Church. The body was taken to Glidden, Iowa, where she formerly lived. Services there were held at the Methodist Church and were in charge of Rev J R McNichols. Burial was in the Glidden Cemetery. "aka Westlawn Cemetery". In the funeral party from Adel were Mr and Mrs Lowell Fowler and daughters Mrs A J Mullmann, Mrs Bert Myers, Mrs Harlan Glenn, Mrs E A Burger, Mrs S C Clancy and John Snyder. Mrs Foxworthy was born near Keokuk, Iowa and was past 78 years old and for the past 15 years has spent much of her time in Adel. She formerly resided at Coon Rapids and at Glidden and lived for indefinite periods with a daughter at Ames and a son at Spencer. Since February, she had been in very poor health and although everything possible was done for her here and at Des Moines hospitals, hope for her recovery was given up several weeks ago. Her death has brought a full measure of sorrow to the family and to the many Adel people who knew her. It closed a long life of usefulness. The surviving son and daughters are Virgil Foxworthy of Spencer, Mrs Sylvia Anthony of Ames and Mrs Lowell Fowler of Adel.
