When 2 years of age her parents moved from Indiana to Wayne County, Iowa, where they resided for five years. In 1877 they came to Carroll County where the deceased grew to womanhood and where she lived until death called. On April 7th, 1895, she was married to Oscar W Pyle. Later they moved to their farm in Richland township where for 36 years they made their home. In the winter of 1892, she was converted and united with the Friends Church at Pleasant Ridge, where she was a faithful member until the time of her death, through for some time her health prevented her from attending the services of the church. For more than a year, Mrs Pyle had been in failing health, suffering from a complication of ailments, a sever stroke being the final cause of her death. The deceased leaves to mourn her loss, her husband, Oscar W Pyle; three brothers, William H Foxworthy, of Scranton; John Foxworthy, of Coon Rapids, and Theodore Foxworthy, of Arnolds Park; three sisters, Mrs Emma J Graves, and Mrs Stella McLain of Coon Rapids; Mrs Effie M Nelson of Ralston, and many other relatives and friends. One brother, Daniel T Foxworthy; two sisters, Mrs Dora Belle Ruark, Mrs Pearl Pyle, and 2 infant children, Theo and Effie, preceded her in death. Every life carries with it an expression and a message. Truly may it be said that the life of the departed one expressed in full measure a message of kindness, thoughtfulness to others and a friendliness, and free-hearted ness that will be long remembered by all who knew her. These splendid traits of character as exemplified in Mrs Pyle's life will still live to bless those who came within her sphere. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 2:30 p.m. in the Pleasant Ridge Friends Church, the pastor, Rev. Giles Youngquist conducting the services. The text for the sermon was taken from 2 Cor. 5-6. Mrs Earl Byerly and Mr Guy Kidney sang three beautiful selections. Burial was in the Westlawn Cemetery. (JS)
