Iowa) Helen A. Cooley was born at Coon Rapids, Iowa, Feb 28, 1858 and died July14, 1911 aged 53 years, 4 months and 16 days. On March 26, 1872, she wasmarried to George W. Sigler to which union were born 6 boys of which the oldest and youngest died in infancy, Leroy and Irwin of Dedham, Edward of Council Bluffs and Emmanuel of Carrollton remain with their father to morn her loss. Besides those she leaves an aged mother, grandma Cooley, at Manning, three brothers and two sisters, several grandchildren and many friends. She untied with the Methodist church on July 28, 1889,when Rev. R.R.C. Grantham was pastor here. She spent her entire life in this county having until the last few months enjoyed excellent health.Some months ago she was taken with severe rheumatism which confined herto her home until a few weeks ago, when she began to be herself again although not wholly recovered. Suddenly Wednesday noon she was stricken with intense suffering and thus she passed away Friday mo! rning though kindly hands ministered as best they could to stay death's messenger.The funeral service was conducted from the M.E. Church Sunday afternoonat 2 o'clock by Rev. Prall. The house was filled with relation and sympathizing friends. The floral tributes were many and beautiful. The singers were Dr. C.C. Bowie, Joe Minnich, George Smith, Mrs. Charles Schnieder, Mrs. F.A. Toovey, Mrs. Fred Minnick and Gertrude Roderick,pianist, Madge Minnich. The pall bearers were Charles Tucker, Rome Ayrhart, George Waychoff, Tom Davis, Belmont McCurdy, and John Stoops.Those in attendance from afar were Henry Cooley and family of Lorah, Mack Sigler of Milford, Mrs. George Cooley of Council Bluffs, Mr. andMrs. Henry Parish of Manning, Otis Smith and family of White Bear,Minnesota, Mr and Mrs. John Copeland of Elk Point, South Dakota, C.C.Scullin and wife of Manning, Edward Sigler and family of Council Bluffs and Irve Cooley of Manning. The Gazette joins with the bereaved in their! deep affliction. Mr and Mrs. Aze Conner, Mrs. John Minnich and son Arthur, Mr. and Mrs.J.C. Hampton and Emma Sigler of the Rapids and Harry Piper and wife, Mr.and Mrs. William Anderson, and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Button and Mrs. Samuel Byerly of Carrollton attended the funeral here Sunday.
