Surnames: Hampton, Grubbs, Hampton, Bancroft, Cory, McKimpson Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Gk.2ADI/1302 Message Board Post: OLD RESIDENT BURIED TODAY Caroline Hampton Goes to Her Final Reward SPENT LIFE IN COUNTY Member of Christian Church Since Small Girl Mrs. Caroline Hampton who is well known here and has lived in Carroll county since a small girl, died at ther home here Wednesday morning.Funeral services will be held at the Christian church this afternoon. the Obituary follows: Carolilne Annabelle Hupp was born in Noble county, Ohio, September 2,1862. When a small child her parents moved with their family to Carroll county, Iowa where home has been ever since. On July 4th, 1879 she was married to Will Grubbs who died a few years later. To this untion was born two sons, LW and Jesse. In 1885 Mr.Grubbs died. In 1887 she was united in marriage to John Hampton who passed away May 24, 1919. To this union was born five children, one son Fred, passing away in infancy. She has been a member of the Christian church since she was a girl and was a regular worshiper at the church as long as her health permitted and remained a faithful earnest believer to the end of her life. In spite of all the medical skill could accomplish and loving, willing hands could, she came to the end of her road Wednesday morning, May 21, 1930 at 9:10 o'clock at her home. She leaves to mourn her passing her six children-- LW and Jesse Grubbs, Alfred Hampton and Mrs. Nora Bancroft, all of Coon Rapids and Mrs Henery Cory of Cedar Rapids and Mrs. E.R. McKimpson of Thayer, Iowa, one sister of Sioux City and two brothers--Seph Hupp of Bloomfield, Neb. and John Hupp of Glidden, several nieces and nephews, besides hosts of friends andneighbors, her friends being numbered by her acquaintences.
