Sigler occurred at his home in Carrollton last Thursday morning at 3:00. Whet Sigler was one of the real pioneers of the Carrollton community. For 58 yrs. he has been living in this county and no one was better qualified to speak of the early history of this part ofthe county than he. He enjoyed a wide acquaintance in this section of the county and a host of friends will be sorry to learn of his death. For two years this aged veteran has been in poor health but had always been up and around until a short time before his death when he was stricken with paralysis. He attained the age of 65 yrs. 10 mos. and 6 days. Mr.Sigler was born in Monroe county, Ohio, May 31, 1855. He came from Ohio to Lee county with his parents from Lee county to Carroll in 1864.This has been his home ever since. He was united in marriage to Susan Mowder on May 27, 1877. Seven children were born to this union, six living: Emma Sharp of Sioux City; Frank, of Carrollton, Ira, LeSueur,Minnesota; Maimie Visner of LaSuer, Minnesota, Matson of Willingford, Iowa; and Ada Johnson of Carrollton. One child died in infancy. One sister, Mrs. John Hupp, two brothers, F.M. Sigler of Carrollton and George of Dedham. Six brothers and sisters preceded him in death. ( this is my 3rd great grand Uncle)
