All of the death, birth, and marriage records for Carroll County are available. If you mean census records, they probably were destroyed along with all the other states. However, there is probably an 1885 state census, and of course the 1880 and 1900 Federal census.

She was born in Carroll, IA and graduated from The College of St Catherine's in 1938. Helen was a regisered dietitian who worked in Nebraska and Minneapolis hospitals. She married Dr. John Moehn on June 6th, 1941. There were many interests in Mrs. Moehn's life such as; traveling with life long friends, attending the Minnesota Symphony, providing recipes for local cookbooks, directing a major remodeling of Interlachen Country Club in the 1980s, being an avid bridge player, and delivering for Meals on Wheels. Helen had seven children; 23 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. A woman of style and grace, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Preceded in death by husband, Dr. John Moehn. Helen Moehn is survived by her children, Karen O'Toole (Michael), Rae Cornelius, Kevin (Linda), Brian (Lisa), Tom, Mary Lan! gfeldt (Joey), Tague (Mary); grandchildren, Liz Sherod (Alec), Amy, Margaret, and Emily Sergeant, Kristen, Molly, John (Kerry), Tom and Charles Cornelius, Ryann and Reid Moehn, Flynn, Ruth and Faith Moehn, Ryan (Rachel), Jenelle and Tegan Moehn, Drew, Luke and Helen Langfeldt, Katie, Anna and Meghan Moehn; great-grandchildren, Sam Sherod, Broderick and Lincoln Moehn. Special thanks to the amazing caregivers at English Rose Suites. It has been an enormous comfort to the family knowing Mom received exceptional care and attention. Mass of Christian Burial Thursday, May 15th, at 4:00 pm at Christ the King Catholic Church, 5129 Zenith Avenue South, Minneapolis. Gill Brothers in charge of arrangements. When she was three weeks old, she went with her parents by covered wagon to Carroll county, Iowa, settling there on a farm until she was 16-years-old, when her family moved to Sac county, Iowa. On Nov. 7, 1899, she was united in marriage with Fletcher Howard at Auburn, Iowa. To this union were born two daughters, Elma (Mrs. Lynn Persinger), Waltham, and Florence (Mrs. Joe Gossett), Des Moines. In 1902, they moved to Webb, Iowa, later moving back to Sac county, where they resided until 1929, when they moved to Waltham, residing there until the time of her death. In her younger days, Mrs. Howard enjoyed helping others. In 1950, Mr. and Mrs. Howard celebrated their golden wedding anniversary and since that time she has been in failing health with a heart condition. Last Aug. 9, she submitted to a serious operation at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, and never fully recovered. Last Saturday, she suffered a stroke and passed away peacefully that evening at 5:45. Besides her husband and daughters, she leaves nine grandchildren and eight grand-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Services were held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 22, at the family home in Waltham and at 2 o'clock at Community church, Waltham, Rev. L. M. Aldermann, Sargeant, officiating. On Wednesday, services were held at 2 p.m. at Sac City. She was laid to rest in the Furgeson cemetery, Lake View, Iowa.
