    3. Hi there!! Help!! My daughter and I are planning to visit the Carroll area next week and wish to visit the Ole Carrollton Cemetery, but I cannot find directions on how to get there, and understood that Carrollton itself has mostly disappeared. I would also be gratedul for any help posssibly locating the old barn which had belonged to Joseph Frye Livingston, which I had understood had been preserved by John and Della Annear. I would appreciate any info about old Carrollton, my Grandfather was born there. Thanks Betty Edwards

    3. I am trying to research my gg grandparents and their ancestors/ descendents and would appreciate any help or leads you can give me. My gg grandmother was born in Coon Rapids, her is the info I have on her and unfortunately it isn't much: Mary Ellen Cavanaugh b:May 11. 1869 Siblings: John, Frank, Charles and William. Mary married William Leo Campbell (b:Oct 1869 in Rockford, ILL) on Jan 25, 1892 in Coon Rapids, IA. Their first four children were born in Coon Rapids, IA: Alice Margaret Campbell, b: Aug 6 1893 Francis Patrick Campbell, b: May 11, 1895 James (Pete) Irvin Campbell, b: July 12, 1900 Mary Elizabeth Campbell b: May 19, 1902 There is one surviving daughter, Grace Campbell Edstrom (who is 90 yrs old) that lives in Fargo, ND, where the entire family migrated to. My great Aunt and I are trying to find out any info on Mary Ellen's family that might be available. If we had the names of her parents that might help. Aunt Grace vaguely remembers going to visit lots of Cavanaugh cousins in Coon Rapids, IA when she was younger. She remembers a Grace who married Leonard Brannen or Brennan, and a set of Twins, Ruby and Ruth Cavanaugh. Thank you for you time and any information or leads you can provide us with. I don't recall that they ran a clothing store or know of any time they would have moved from Coon Rapids. Perhaps her obituary could clarify this.

One or Some of their children may have perished in that fire. I used the info above to come up with the info below...I would think you could look these names up in the census yourself and possible come up with more info. On Herman, I am unable to hook him to the other Stevens of Templeton without some type of document. He did own a small piece of land right next to Crawford Co. I would appear he had siblings and they did farm in the near by area. There is also a piece of land that appears to have Herman's name as well as a brother and sister who also had their names on the piece of land at the same time. That piece appeared to be from an estate with other chuncks going to persons outside the Stevens name. I find no record of Herman ever using the name John. The only thing even in that way...was the headstone Herman J. This is the only time I have seen the J. appear. If I were you I would take the time to write to Sacred Heart Cath. 3. Gwendolyn Jean INGRAM was born in Carroll, Carroll Co., IA or possibly in Omaha, NE in November of 1907. Her father, Richard Oscar Ingram, died of TB before "Jean" was born. Sometime following Jean's birth, she was left at my grandmother's home (who was Jean's aunt, Ruby Ingram BARR) to be cared for. Then, my grandmother became very ill while pregnant with my mother and she had to give up Jean. What happened to Jean's mother (Gwendolyn Howell PRICE INGRAM) that she couldn't care for her? And where did Jean go after leaving my grandmother's home? Gwendolyn H. Price was the daughter of Norman PRICE. Jean died in Baltimore, MD in November, 1971. I only know that she was married to Charles MILLER and they had a daughter Nancy who married a BROWN. Jean's body was given to the Maryland College of Medicine and I can find no death record. My information is from the church in Maryland where the memorial service was held. Any help with these families would really help. The Carroll Times article from the latter part of October, 1903, written by Andrew or Matthew Barr regarding their two month voyage to Scotland to view their mother's grave. A subsequent article by a Mr. Graham in the Nov. 3 issue of the Carroll Times refers to the article written by "Mr. Barr". 2. The birth of a son to Duncan Barr and unknown female in Manning, IA. 1875-1900 time frame. Duncan died in Hartington, NE in 1926. Before his death, he asked that his son be named in his will, but the search for him was unsuccessful. The son's name was not mentioned in the probate papers, only that he had been born in Manning, IA. Any help would be greatly appreciated and would be happy to pay for time and copies. TIA.
