I don't have an Almina listed among my Krohns and, unfortunately, have not located any other reference than one to my Todds. I did have a look at the census records and I was able to locate your Alfred and Almina in the 1920 census in IL and I was able to locate him in his father's household in 1900, but I haven't been able to locate her as yet. There are around a hundred Krohn's to be checked. I did check the counties closest to McHenry, but those did not show anything. The most hopeful is for a John Krohn in Alden Township, McHenry County. He's on page one, but you can't read it on either of my sources. Someone put wide tape over the census page and it got all crinkled. He is still on the census at that location in 1920 and is of an age that would work. His and his sife's birth place don't match Almina's census for 1920, but that's not at all uncommon. I'll be happy to share the census data I was able to find and to continue looking. Just email me directly. Happy time travels. Susan.

Buttolph was born in Vermont, married in Iowa, traveled the Oregon trail, lost his wife, and finally settled and died in 1919 in Dayton County, Washington. In the 1870 census, Albert and Edgar were living next door to each other in Cub Creek, Nebraska. They both were in Union County, Iowa when they enlisted and they both died in Washington. I would believe them to be related, but I can't find the tie at this time. Albert was supposedly born in Canada and Edgar in Vermont. Does anyone know how they tie in????
I am searching for Emeline Arbogast Holingsworth who was living in Lohrville, Iowa in the 1800's. That is about all I know, except that her sister, Martha Arbogast Walker (Mrs. Charles) was my great grandmother. ANY help would be appreciated!! Sue Frazey Green

Ransom was commonly known as "Ran". his wife Mary's maiden name was Card. I found her birth data and place, as well. Clifford may have gone to S. Dakota, but he died in Yolo Co., California, and is in the CADI. his full name is Charles Clifford H. all of that was just from Rootsweb. then I also stumbled across Ransom's paternal grandmother's maiden name. so your information has helped quite a bit. there is a Gertrude Carlson in Yolo in the SSDI, and two possible Frank Hobbes in the SSDI, one in Iowa, one in WI. there were too many hits to sort out Mary Robinson for certain. even when I got them down to 8 hits, I couldn't be sure.
