Surnames: Winney/Winne; Spencer Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/Fk.2ADI/560 Message Board Post: I have met a man whose family tree sounds so similar to mind, I can't help but wonder if we are related. Can you help us? My GGGrandfather was William Henry Winney (1847WI - 1907NE). He married for a second time in Wisconsin, had children with the second wife, then moved to Osceola Co., IA after 1880. He lived in IA except for a short break in De Smet, South Dakota and Rushville, NE where he died. He is buried in Osceola Co., IA. His first marriage in WI was to my GGGrandmother (Sarah) Elizabeth Taylor who died within two years of my GGrandmother's birth. Then he married a widow Mary L. Hickock Stipkins and he had children with her until 1880. Then that family moved to Osceola County, IA. My GGrandmother was Anna Elizabeth Winney (1870WI - 1934IA); she was part Native American through the Winney blood. (W.H. Winney's father was William James Winney who was born in Cherry Valley, New York in 1820; he moved to Wisconsin when he was 22 years old, served as a constable and in the Temperence Movement as a strict Methodist and was buried in Grant Co., WI in 1881.) Then there is a man who sounds like he might be related to us. He was Daniel Henry Winney (1835NY - 1910IA). He was married to Charlotte Hayward, (1834VT - 1885 Calhoun CO, Iowa). (W.J. Winney had another son who married in Calhoun Co., IA: Leonard Winney married Elizabeth Wellman. Leonard Winney was born in 1861. Leonard and Elizabeth had some children in IA before moving to California.) Daniel Henry Winney and Charlotte Hayward married in 1847 in Pleasant Valley, IA. If any of these names sounds familar, I would surely appreciate hearing from you! (Or if you have an idea of where I can go next to extablish any relationship. "Henry" seems to be a well-used first and middle name for my Winney family.) Many thanks! Kathleen LPurch6636@aol.com

Who would I write to in order to fine her date of death? Angeline Delaney McClaflin (Claflin), also mentioned is a sister to my gg grandmother Julia A. Delaney Tucker of Juneau Co. Angeline's obituary is as follows: November 11, 1901 ~ Sac City Sun Lytton News Angeline Clafflin was born in New York on the 4th day of July, 1819 and died November 6, 1901 at the home of one of her daughters living in Lytton. She was converted in childhood and united in the church and ever afterward remained true to her trust. In 1837 she married Louis Clafflin, who preceded her to the home above, November 25, 1875. To this union nine children were born, of whom seven survive to mourn the loss. The decedent came to Sac City about eighteen years ago. She often expressed her feeling to her friends as "being ready and waiting for the Father to call her home." Her face in death was a perfect mirror of motherly tenderness and saintly virtue. The family desires to express heartfelt thanks for the kindly attentions bestowed upon the beloved mother. Note:On Angeline's tombstone in Cedar Cemetery located in Sac Co., Iowa, her married name is spelled McClaflin. All other legal documents in WI had Claflin.

They had Luesman as well. But yu have the area correct. I have further found this mans father . I have documents from the church. It looks like the Sauckes and schroeders and Meyers and Seils were connected. However, I am not sure if it is My Meyer family. and not sure if it is the Greene county Seil. Though, I wouldn't be surprised. The village correctly spelled is Roethen with umlaut unless Rathan listed at one family tree is another place? Then it ws also Nahrendorf and that is by Oldendorf. However, if not you are the one, who, maybe can give me some information. Don't use that email. though. GOODDAY-331@hotmail.com. take the hypen out and use smalls.
