I know they had 3 or 4 girls there, one of which was my grandmother, Hattie in 1886. Is there any online search engines I can use to find info? I've got everything that ancestry.com has available and still cannot locate anything. (no births, no newspapers, no church info, NOTHING!!!!) I suspect they may have moved there with Emmet's father David Miller. By 1899 they were in Arkansas. Anyone having any info on this family would be most helpful. Diane Powell

I also didn't find Wesley, perhaps this was a middle name? Is there a birth year and wife or children? Lemuel did not appear, either, but if he is the same Lemuel as on the 1900 census, that would have put him about 75 and he may well have been dead by then. If you have other names, let me know. History 1854-1982, submitted by Lottie Parker Green, he didn't go anywhere. Dave and Dora's first son Claude worked at the Farmers Elevator in Lohrville for over 50 years. Another son, Wesley, farmed near Yetter and passed away in 1971. It says that Dave was director of the county school and assessor for Union township. He graded, dragged roads, put in bridges and later graveled many country roads. He then wrote insurance for the Calhoun Co. Mutual Insurance Co and was appointed a director in 1902. He served as secretary from 1933 to 1944. he was a charter member of the I.O.O.F lodge and he and Dora were members of the Methodist church in Lohrville.

It appears that Laura DEERINGER and her first husband, Elias BEHNEY, divorced about 1913/4 in Atchison, Kansas. Laura moved to Iowa, possibly Des Moines, a few years later and by 1921, she was married to a MCVAY, probably Rodney R. McVay b. ca 1885 in Kansas. Rodney can be found in the 1910 census living with his father William H. H. McVay and brother Charles in Farnhamville. Brother Charles and father William were living in Omaha in 1920, but I've been unable to locate Laura and Rodney in that year. I suspect Rodney was part of a large family and probably had other siblings around the Farnhamville area. By the mid 1920's, Rodney and Laura had moved to Omaha where she died in 1928. If anyone has additional information on this McVay family, I'd like to hear from you. mickey themick88@yahoo.com
