I believe I only paid $15.00 or so for a copy. It has great detail and pictures. There is also information in the Pocahontas County History published in about 1900. My family lost many relatives in the storm.

I had not heard of it so I had to look it up on the map. Manson is in Calhoun County but the two towns look like they are 10 miles or so apart. Barnum is also close to Fort Dodge which is the county seat of Webster County. I have found that Iowa libraries have indexed books of the cemeteries. Perhaps you could write to a library who could search the cemeteries in Webster and Calhoun counties for your family names. Rockwell City is the county seat for Calhoun County and they have been very helpful to me by mail. Hope this helps you.

After the marriage Cordelia and Ferdninad lived in Blue earth, Faribault county. i think he had brother Ernest Carl and sister Gertrude Wilhelmina.Borchert. There is a picuture of a Ferdinand Borchert in the Farnhamville book. It was a picture of band members that my grandfather was in. Along with Luhmann, another Meyer and Saucke and quite a few others. If my grandfather was born 1881 and The Ferninad Herman Borchert born 1905... Wouldn't the Ferdinad be quite young for that picture...? I would appreciate any help. I have had difficulty in finding anything in census on Borchert family..

Mine who started at Lohrville and who also lived at churdan and Farnhamville. They had many in their colony who were from Oldendorf. But Meyer stemmed from Neetzendorf, Vindorf, Boitze, Seedorf, Dahlenburg area as well. Before that area Johan Juergen came from Radenbeck. The church was in Thomasburg. One of Johan children had a sister and two borthers. Starting with births of years 1804 all way to 1817. Your Johan had a birth 1810 which puts it into the possible maybe. Your Meyer werre in calhoun. My Meyer settled Lohrville, Churdan and Farnhamville area. So also Green county. There were others I think who maybe got land at Pomeroy. Ithink there is a christoph meyer family at that area that i read about in the calhoun county historical book that caught my eye when i visited last summer. Honestly, I can't publish any of your detail. and I just want to glimpse and speculate. I push the informtion of Jonas-online.de of Dahlenburg. His ancestors are the closest I can find with no proof that we connect. His Quassat and others settled in Goodhue Mn. There is a morman film available that I hope to view with more informtion about these Luhmann, Meyer and others. Also the Reeedsburg film with Meyer. Their is a Linda with a tree who has Meyer from Radenbeck. their sia Carol Townsend withmeyer and others from my area of where my ancestors lived. also a Mary Rowe. Hers went to Fairmont Mn. where some of mine also settled. also hers were in Cass ciunty Nebraska where my Luhmann went. Married to Schlaphof so what doe this all say. nothing. I am merely grasping at straws.. for finding something there may be something that others have over looked and I am hoping I could see it. the amount of people in greene and calhoun involved is vast....and then there is clinton, jackson county.
