I am searching for Frank Graham of Birmingham, Iowa. He married Jennie Newell in Fairfirld Iowa on December 31, 1883. I believe that he may be a relative of mine but I do not have him on my family tree. There was a Frank Graham of Birmingham Iowa who had a father named Simon Graham. Everything fits but I cannot be sure that this is the same person. Birmingham is in Van Buren County, Iowa. Jennie Newell appears on the 1880 census. Her father was George Newell. The reason I think he might be a relative is that it would explain where my Uncle Newell Jacobson got his first name. The mother of Newell was Mary Elizabeth Graham (1879-1956), who was my grandmother. Her family lived in the Fairfield area at one time. We know that Newell was a family name but we do not know from where it came since we have not been able to find any relatives named Newell. Sam Sloan The Fairfield Tribune Fairfield, Jefferson, Iowa Thursday, January 3, 1884 A QUIET Wedding took place at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Newels, Monday evening on which occasion Mr. Frank Graham of Birmingham and Miss Jennie A Newell were made one. It was a very pleasant affair and among those present were Mr. L.J. Larramer and wife and Miss Anderson of Birmingham.
