Susan, I had a very difficult naming problem, I had found a lovely family, that I knew was the right one, but the children were all named some strange names no one ever heard of. I sent for the probate packet, for their father, dated 1899, and it gave the names of the children as I knew them, plus who they were married to , and there they lived. Example: (My dearly beloved son, William Charles, and his wife Barbara living in St. Louis, MO.) I cannot tell you how much help it was to my research. It cost about $20.00, but was well worth it. Took about a month to receive it. As far as your other question regarding your mother getting the copies I cannot help. My advise is always go with the land records and get the probate file. Good Luck, Marie in Florida
