Hi List, In looking for my ancestor Joseph Bray naturalization I find myself with a Declaration of Intention Record for Ole Jansen a native of Denmark saying that he landed in the United States on or about the 27 day of August 1870 and it says on this 4 day of February 1875. This is The State of Iowa Black Hawk County. On the same copy is The State of Illinois Greene Count for Joseph Bray a native of Great Britain and that says on this 25 day of May 1872. According to the National Archives and Records Administration what may well be MY ancestor Joseph Bray the certificate no (or Vol and page) Vol. I P. 480 and Title and location of court is Iowa Dist. Black Hawk Co. Iowa, Waterloo. Country of birth or allegiance England and Date of naturalization is Oct. 2. 1877. The Greene County Bray may or may not be mine? Won't know until I somehow arrange to get what is available at the Waterloo Clerk of Court but this one in Black Hawk certainly should be as he married in Black Hawk, Lincoln Twp in 1873, had kids in Black Hawk before removing to Wright Co. I did a quick search for Ole Jansen on ancestry, haven't checked HQ or other yet and that gave no Ole for Black Hawk but did return one in the 1885 26, Birth Demark, IA, Plymouth Co., America Twp, LeMars Third Ward but says Alien Without First Papers. ? Must not be this Ole. Anyone recognize this Ole I have this paper for? Barb
