I've "rescued" an old photograph of Vera E. LANDAN which was taken at the Simmons Studio in Waterloo, Iowa. The photograph was probably taken in the early 1900's with Vera noted as 14 years old at the time it was taken. Based on limited research I was able to locate what I believe is Vera's family in the 1910 census of Bennington, IA. The census records include the family of Henry W. LANDAN as follows: Henry W. LANDAN age 40 married 15 years b. IL Parents b. in Germany Farmer Kathelina LANDAN age 33 married 15 years with 7 children b. Germany Parents b. in Germany Housewife Vera E. LANDAN age 14 b. IL Jerome V. LANDAN age 12 b. IL Everett F. LANDAN age 10 b. IA Clarence A. LANDAN age 8 b. IA Wilber A. LANDAN age 5 b. IA John W. LANDAN age 4 b. IA Carl O. LANDAN age 1 b. IA I'm hoping to locate someone from Vera's family so that this wonderful old photograph can be returned to its rightful place with family.
