I've "rescued" an old photograph of Madeira MILLER which was taken at the G. C. Reagan Studio in Waterloo, Iowa. The photograph was probably taken in the 1880's with Madeira looking to be in her teens at the time. The notation on the back of the photograph is likely made by Madeira herself, "This is what they call Madeira Miller" and given to a friend or family member originally. Based on limited research I believe that this is a photograph of Madeira MILLER b. 20 March 1867 in Iowa to parents Jacob W. MILLER and Maggie MAUST. The family was included in the 1880 census of Orange, IA with records as follows: J. W. MILLER age 36 b. PA Farmer Parents b. in PA Maggie MILLER age 36 b. PA Housewife Parents b. in PA Madeira MILLER age 13 b. IA at School Parents b. in PA Ulysis MILLER age 10 b. IA at School Parents b. in PA Norman MILLER age 9 b. IA at School Parents b. in PA Calvin MILLER age 7 b. IA at School Parents b. in PA Henry W. MILLER age 5 b. IA at School Parents b. in PA Hanna May MILLER age 3 b.
