They lived in East Waterloo township at least during the 1930 census. Howard was 14, Lois was 13, and Helen was 9 at the time of the census, and were all born in Iowa. Their parents were Earl and Pearl Allen, ages 52 and 42, which would make their birth years 1878 and 1888 respectively. I have really hit a brick wall here, so any information at all would be appreciated. Thanks! Thank you very much Celeste. This helps alot. I don't know who Jane is, perhaps a 2nd wife? But now I can narrow down the timeframe for their deaths. I appreciate your help. I am trying to locate death and/or burial information on John and Mary JOHNSON. Mary was born June 1859 in OH, John was born Dec 1858 in IL. Mary E. CODDINGTON is my Gr.grandmother's sister. She married John JOHNSON in Shawnee Co, KS in 1880. John and Mary moved to Waterloo, IA and had a daughter, Nellie in 1881, and Bessie in Aug 1887. Bessie married Claude BRINKERHOFF abt. 1906, and had a daughter Delores abt.1912. I have located them in the IA 1930 census, living on a farm on Rainbow Drive in Waterloo, IA. John was a farmer. I did not find a lookup volunteer for this county in this time frame. I believe they died in the 1930's. If someone on this list knows of some Waterloo or Blackhawk county site I could contact that would be great. Thanks in advance, Nancy ON, Canada.

Looking for an Ina Williamson that was probably born around 1942, so could very well be still living. We think she was born in Iowa, but really not sure. When I searched at Ancestry.com, it came up with a newspaper and periodical result for Waterloo, Iowa. I don't ahave a subscription, so couldn't see what the entry actually was. Thought I'd give it a shot. Does anyone have access to city or farm directories for Butler County for any years between 1945-60? We don't know who she married, but her maiden name was Ina Williamson. She's too young to find in the 1930 census. Any other ideas? Thanks, Chris Beck thebecks@ncn.net
Can anyone direct me to who might be able to do an obituary lookup? I looking for my grandmother's obituary. I don't have the exact date of death, but it was in March 1871. She died with the name of Florence House. She had a daughter named Florence Kepford. Florence was born Florence Harriett Brewer (I am pretty sure). She married John Thomas Wells and then a man named House. And I believe she died in Waterloo, IA. Thank you for any help you can give. Denise

Try contacting the Northeastern Genealogical Society based in Waterloo Main Library. In fact, try the Library. the Genealogical Society has volunteers who most likely will do a search for you. They both have websites but I don't know them right off. Regular search would no doubt bring it up. Since it is a volunteer organization, a small donation would help to keep their doors open. Try them, you'll like them. Take care.
