Bole, who was b. 1874 in IA. This photo is identified on the back of the card as being taken in Benkelman, NE in 1895 at the age of 21. Edith is d/o Edwin Bole who shows on the 1880 census in Black Hawk Co. IA. I try to rescue and return old family photos. So, if Edith Bole is your family and you are interested in this very nice photo, please contact me privately at: jmje36@aol.com. Thank you, Judy in TX

All I can recall right now is that she was born premature and was bathed in whisky by the medicine man. Also interesting is the fact that Geronimo was kept there as a prisoner ( No he is not of the same tribe) and she and other children there were allowed to play with him.Anyway I will get actuall names and dates etc. and reply back.

I am looking for information on who he married after divorcing Wilma Bashor, as well as his and Wilma's divorce date. Where he is buried, etc." Cal, it's helpful to provide a time frame so that helpers know what resources to consult. I see that "S. Bruce Galloway's" WWI draft card indicates that he was born March 21 1888 in TIngley (Ringgold Co.) IA. His occupation appears to be "naturopath" (handwriting is difficult to read). In the 1930 census, an S.B. GALLOWAY born circa 1888 in Iowa is residing in Amarillo, Potter, TX, with his wife Sallie (b. c1894 TX). His occupation is "Doctor, Factory." No children in this household. A possible match for S.B.'s wife Sallie in the SSDI is: Name: Sallie Galloway SSN: 458-17-8675 Last Residence: 75218 Dallas, Dallas, Texas Born: 4 Jun 1897 Died: Mar 1986 State (Year) SSN issued: Texas (1973 ) S.B. doesn't appear to have survived to be included in the SSDI. In 1930, Wilma appears to be in Los Angeles, CA. I also found some newspaper items that seem to refer to her. If you can provide a marriage date, and any information about where Samuel Bruce GALLOWAY &/or Wilma BASHOR were in the 1910 and 1920 censuses, I might be able to recommend strategies for locating divorce information.
Hi, I have the Elmwood cemetery burials as compiled by members of the NE IA Genealogical Society in the spring of 1984. I did not find Aaron Brown (perhaps there is no stone?). I visited the cemetery a few summers ago and have the card of Dean Smith, the cemetery association manager. His phone number is - 563-232-2348. He had a very antiquated computer which did have the cemetery burials - it was not complete either, but maybe he might be able to help you. The address of the association is 226 Elmwood St. Waterloo, IA 50701. Some day, maybe i'll learn not to be quite so quick to click send. The Black Hawk site also has both Mary and Cyrus Cotton listed in the transcription of Westview Cemetery. http://www.rootsweb.com/~iablackh/WestViewCem-CD.htm Also see Noah Cotton in this 1885 Special Census of Iowa Soldiers, Sailors, and Marines, under La Porte City P.O. http://www.rootsweb.com/~iablackh/1885VetCensus3.htm Barb
Still just poking around some, is this your Lydia Cotton's mother Donna? http://www.rootsweb.com/~iablackh/mcottonobit.html If so, it gives an idea of when Cyrus/Cyres died as well. Barb
Hi, Different birth place for Cyrus and Polly is Mary, but the John Leonard being with them in 1860 and in the county where Lydia and Jesse are pretty well convinces me that this is them. 1860 Iowa, Benton, Cedar Cyrus Cotton 65 m Farmer NC Mary Cotton 63 f Vir John Leonard 13 m Ind Nancy Terry 19 f Ind right under them again, with a different birth place and age a bit off could be Lydia's sister Martha? Hi Donna, Black Hawk County, IA Marriages - A on their genweb site lists a marriage of Edward Avery, Minnie Dodson 10-7-1912. Named in the list of Settlers Between 1855 and 1856 for Black Hawk county is Jesse Dodson. There are some Cotton burials listed on site as well though I don't know if any of those relate to your Lydia.
