1. Re: Rodgers family Blakesville, 1850s
    2. I have Rodgers (with a "D") ancestry, and quite a bit of the family genealogy, but I'm not aware of any of them in Black Hawk County, Iowa. If you could check out the 1860 census of Blakesville, and maybe discover the parents' names, I'd be happy to see if they connect. Mine were Presbyterian/Irish from the area of Shippensburg, PA, descendants of a William Rodgers (b. abt 1700), from County Derry according to legend. Best Wishes, Don Boyd Fairborn, Ohio U.S.A. http://familytreemaker.genealogy.com/users/b/o/y/Donald-Boyd-OH/

Surnames: Van Cleave / Donahoo / Weathersby Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/Vk.2ADE/836.1.1.2.1 Message Board Post: Shirley - first of all I apologize, thinking your name was marjorie to begin with ........ thank you for your info; yes, the Van Cleave's / Van Cleef, tc. I can get clear back to Jon Van Cleef b. 1627. My g/grandmother was Martha Texana VanCleave, b March 18, 1856, died February 17, 1934, married to John Pershing Weathersby, who was born Sept. 11, 1837 in Miss. and died Dec. 15, 1915. My g/g/grandmother, Catherine Donahoo, shows birth 12-29-1824 and death 8-18-1887 in Stag Creek Cemetery, Comanche, Texas. She was married to Alfred Suggs VanCleave, born 4-7-1821 in KY. and died 1-5-1896, also buried at Stag Creek, Comanche, Texas. Alfred's dad shows Joel Van Cleave, b 4-3-1793 in KY and died 6-22-1867 in Robertson, Texas. Joel was married to Pherraba Stringer. Now, the Stringers I can also take back to Daniel Stringer b. 1661 in VA., but like I said, I get deadends with Catherine Donahoo. That is basically about all the info I have on that end. Thank you again for all! your help! Gloria
