I'm descended from Levi and Diantha (Worcester) PANGBORN who settled in Parker's Grove south of Shellsburg in 1854, Alfred (listed as Osburn in the 1860 Federal census of Iowa) and Anna (?) STODDARD, who may have first gone to Benton City (a local history I have says that a Mr. Stoddard built a hotel there), and were in Iowa sometime prior to 1860, Russell Filmore and Rachel (Hollister) BOWE who settled along Wild Cat Creek just west of Shellsburg in 1854, and James and Isabel (Anderson) MAXWELL who came to Iowa from Scotland in 1892, along with at least one of James' brothers and a sister, Betsy Burns who also settled in Benton County.
