Hello, I am researching my g.g.grandfather John McCormick born most likely in the late 1840's somewhere in the south of Ireland. I do not know when he arrived in North America, but he was married to Mary Margaret Nicoll from Antrim. (she had a brother Henry but I do not know if he lived in Allamkee) My g.grandmother Mary Bridget Theresa McComrick was born in New Albin on March 8th,1879. She was the youngest child. Her brother's names were John and Bernard and her sister's name was Susan. I do not know for how long John McCormick and family were in Allamakee County, but they later settled in Omaha, Nebraska, where they ran a trasfer business, had a blacksmith's shop, and livery stables. John most likely died in Omaha in 1906, and his wife Mary in the 1920's or 30's. I have noticed quite a few McComrick's listed in Allamakee County in various resources online, but do not know in which way they might be connected to John McCormick. Below is listed some McCormicks in Allamakee. I do not know if any of them are connected with my own McCormicks. If anyone out there knows anything about McCormicks in Allamakee, give me a shout.
