The Rev. Norris C. Swenson officiated. Born November 8, 1899 on a farm near Luana, she was the daughter of Fred and Henrietta Blietz Kruse. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church, Luana and received her education in the Luana school. April 7, 1920 she was united in marriage to Henry Rekow at the home of her parents in Luana. They farmed in the Luana area and spent the last 14 years before they retired, on a farm near Postville. They moved to Postville in 1965. Preceding her in death were her husband, Henry in 1974; an infant daughter; a daughter Donna and a son Burdette; three brothers, William, Henry and Fred and a sister Alice. Survivors include a son Leigh, Luana; four daughters, Mrs. Edward (Gwendolyn) Boske, LaCrescent, Minnesota; Mrs. Stanley (Marjorie) Schroeder; Mrs. David (Karen) Schutte and Mrs. Leslie (Sherrill) Heckman, all of Postville; a brother George, Mabel, Minnesota and a sister, Etta Deal, Cedar Rapids. There are also 15 grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Interment was in St. John Lutheran Cemetery, Luana. Postville Herald newspaper clipping from my mother's obituary collection.
