I have a few dozen photos of Postville, including children sledding down a hill near what appears to be a school, that were taken by the Myra (Jacobia) Gray family and William Oehring. As a child, my aunt Mary lived with Mrs. Gray during the school year and returned to her Des Moines family in the summer. She remained close friends with the Grays and with "Billo" for many, many years. Is there anyone/group who can make use of some the photos? Thanks! Julie Simon [email protected] I did get some appropriate from your website: Cemetery : Oehring, William H 1874 May 25 1954 Jan 31 Son of John C FS DR Wedding: Myra E. Jacobia to Otis E. Gray August 1888 Postville Married. At the residence of the bride's parents, adjoining Postville on Tuesday evening, Aug 21st, by Rev. J.O. THRUSH, Mr. Otis E. GRAY and Miss Myra E. JACOBIA. Although quite a large company was present there were but few not relatives of the contracting parties. It was however one of the pleasantest occasions of the kind that has ever come off in Postville or vicinity. The decorations were appropriate and fine, the viands were superb and the presents were numerous and appropriate, though by request a list of them is not given. Thus another couple of our estimable young people join hands and hearts for the life journey, with the best of wishes for their prosperity and happiness on the part of all who know them and the families with which they are connected.
