The deceased was born at Gross-Goehren, in Mecklenburg-Schwerin, Germany, on December 28, 1877. He was baptized in infancy in the name of the Triune God - Father, Son, and Holy Ghost - at the Lutheran church in the town of his birth. I On November 7, 1881, he came to the United States with his parents who settled in this community. After having attended the district school find that of St. Paul's Lutheran church of Postville, he became a communicant member of this church by the rite of confirmation on March 22, 1891. Just twenty-eight years ago - May 13, 1902 - he was married to Miss Emma Sander of Postville, who now mourns as his bereaved widow. To this union were born two children, Clara, now Mrs. Louis H. Schutte of Postville and Carl at home. Besides his widow and children he leaves to mourn his loss his aged mother and one sister, Mrs. August Schutte of Castalia, and two grandchildren, LeRoy and Donald Schutte, and many friends. He was a kind and sympathetic husband and loving father, who will be sadly missed by his loved ones. He was a helpful neighbor and friend, well liked by all who knew him. At the time of his departure he was aged 52 years, four months and 14 days. Deceased was a member of Postville Lodge, No. 707, I.O.O.F. and of Post Rebekah lodge. The funeral will be held this Thursday afternoon at two o'clock from St. Paul's Lutheran church in this city, the Rev. R. B. Garten officiating. Interment will be made in the Postville cemetery.
