VAN GORDER SUCCUMBS TO LONG ILLNESS Mrs. Susan E. Van Gorder passed away early Monday morning at the home of her son, C.B.Van Gorder, in Franklin township, aged 82 years, 7 months and 27 days, following an illness of several months. The funeral will be held this Wednesday morning at ten o'clock from the home, conducted by Rev. Gough of Waukon. Burial was made in the Hardin cemetery. Deceased was born in Pennsylvania and after a residence at Baraboo, Wis., came to Iowa 53 years ago, since which time she has resided continuously in Allamakee or Clayton counties. Her husband, Levi Dexter Van Gorder, preceded her in death 22 years ago. Eleven children were born to them, one daughter and ten sons, of whom seven sons survive, namely: Frank of Superior, Wis., Henry, Syrnes, Sankey, and Charley of Franklin township, Hayes of Kansas, and Hardy of Kenney, Minn.
