Funeral Mass was held Thursday, Feb. 8 at Ascension Catholic Church in Oak Park, with burial at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. Peterson Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements. Mabel was born February 4, 1905 in Mullhull, OK. She was the loving mother of Jeremiah and Susie, Ginny and the late Jay Collins, Ann and Ray Springer, and James Hayes. She was the proud grandmother of 11 grandchildren and great-grandmother to 22 great-grandchildren. Mabel is survived by her sisters, Margaret Higgins, Agnes Finnegan and Hazel Grayson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas E. Hayes; her brothers, Leo, Harold and Martin Devitt; and her sisters, Alice Delaney and Loretta Hancock.
