Funeral services were held on Thursday at 10:00 a.m. from Zion United Church of Christ of which he was a member, with the Rev. Wm. J. Tjaden officiating. Burial was in Oakland cemetery. He was born on November 9, 1906, in Allamakee County to Carl and Anna Marie (Wild) Hin­richs. He was retired from the U. S. Navy as a Lt. Commander, where he had served for 33 years. He was married on May 4, 1973, at the Little Brown Church, Nashua to Lois Meier, who survives with two brothers, Robert of Mobile, Alabama, and Sylvan of De Soto, Wis., and one sister, Mrs. Al (Lillian) Hegener, Petoskey, Michigan.
