He was born Feb. 23, 1905, in Allamakee County to Herman and Anna (Ehlers) Breeser. On June 7, 1933, he married Laura Schuttemeier in Allamakee County. He attended rural schools in Allamakee County, and farmed in Jefferson township, Houston county, MN, until 1975. He then moved to New Albin, where he was a member of St. Peter's United Church of Christ. Survivors are: his wife; two sons, Leander of Eitzen, MN, and John Jr. of New Albin; three daughters, Luella Meyer, Ruth Breeser and Elaine Burroughs, all of Caledonia, MN; 12 grandchildren; and a brother, Louis of New Albin. Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday in St. Peter's United Church of Christ. The Rev. Daniel Jensen officiated. Burial was in St. Peter's Memorial Cemetery. Casket bearers were Walter Breeser, Gilman Breeser, Melvin Breeser, Robert Beneke, Robert Waters and Howard Solberg. Haugen-Roble Funeral Home, Caledonia, MN, was in charge of arrangements.
