"Barney" Zeimet, 70, of 489 Diagonal St., Lans­ing, died Saturday, November 17, 1990, at St. Francis Medical Center, LaCrosse, WI. Barney was born September 21, 1920 in Lansing to John and Leonette (Althoff) Zeimet. On July 14, 1944 he married Doro­thy O'Hara at Wexford. He was a veteran of World War II and was a retired truck driver. Barney and his wife Dorothy also owned Ma & Pa's Country Store in Churchtown for several years. Through his retirement Barney spent much of his time barbecuing for various events. He was also an active members of Lansing VFW Post 5981. Survivors include his wife; three sons, John of Lodi, WI, Robert of Lansing, and Jerry of Dubuque, IA; four daughters, Shar­on Costello, Sally Gaines, Sue Richards, and Sandy Rethwisch, all of Lansing; 13 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; four brothers, Clem of Lansing, Tom of New Albin, Jim of Albert Lea, MN, and Adrian of Lake of the Ozarks, MO; and two sisters, Mary McCarthy, Dubuque, and Regina Collins, Rockford, IL. He was preceded in death by a sister. Funeral services were held Wednesday, Nov. 21, at Immac­ulate Conception Catholic Church in Lansing, Rev. Herbert Tegeler officiating. Burial was in Gethsemane Cemetery. Graveside Military Rites were conducted by VFW Post 5981. Pallbearers were Jim Strub, Dave Christoffer, Roger Reed, Lloyd Welsh, Glen Reed, and Bob Peters. Serving as honorary pall­bearers were Laverne Christof­fer, Bob Reed, Bill Walleser, Tom Garrett, Levi Sweat, Louie Spinner, Glen Connor and Tom Peters.
