Cooper, 77, of Harpers Ferry, were held Monday, Aug. 20 at 1:30 p.m. at the United Methodist church at Lansing. The Rev. John Hall officiated and burial was in Oak Hill cemetery. He died Saturday, Aug. 18, 1979 at Lutheran hospital, LaCrosse, WI. Pallbearers were Gerald Mathis, John Engelhorn, Neal Steiber, Alan Steiber, Roger Lenz and Keith Lenz. Surviving are his wife, Muriel of Harpers Ferry; three daughters, Mrs. Franklin (Jean Ann) Weymiller, Harpers Ferry, Mrs. Tom (Lynn) Thomson and Mrs. Glen (Susan) Mathis of Waukon; eight grand­children; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Mrs. Curtis Lenz of Lansing. He was born Dec. 31, 1901 in rural Lansing to Edwin and Caroline (Reed) Cooper, and married Muriel Steiber June 11, 1930 in Lansing.
