Schultz, 97, of Lansing, died Sunday, October 11, 1987, at Thornton Manor. He was born June 20, 1890 in Postville, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Schultz. He married Caroline Welper in 1913. She preceded him in death on September 14, 1970. They farmed in the Lansing area for many years. Mr. Schultz was also a carpenter for many years before retiring in 1968. He was a member of the United Methodist Church. He is survived by two sons, Alvin Schultz of La Crosse and Richard Schultz of Lansing; 7 grandchildren, 18 greatgrandchildren and 4 greatgreat-grandchildren; and a brother, Albert Schultz of West Union. Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by a son, five brothers and one sister. Pastor Tom Mattson officiated at the 1 p.m. services at the United Methodist Church. Burial was in Oakland Cemetery, Waukon. Pallbearers were Ronald Schultz, James Seidel, Kyle Leppert, Kraig Leppert, Sean Clancy and Rick Troendle.
