Sandry. Elizabeth Hirth was born in Hockenheim, Baden, Germany, Dec. 23, 1827, She died at 3 o'clock p. m. Sunday, June 13, at Robinsdale, Minn., where she resided the past year or more since selling the old home in this township. She came to America when a girl and was married to Andrew Theo. Sandry, April 12, 1852, by Rev. Francis Jaeger at Dubuque, Iowa. Ten children were the fruit of this union, the husband and three sons preceding the mother to the grave. She is survived by two sons and five daughters, namely; John A., of Dubuque, Iowa; Will of Minneapolis; Barbara, Mrs. Henry Martin, of Waukon; Margaret, Mrs. H. Hartfeil, Minneapolis; Martha, Mrs. U. G. White, Chicago; Emma, Mrs. Klein, Chicago; Miss Bertha, of Robbinsdale, Minn., also one brother, Barney Hirth of Minneapolis; besides eight grandchildren. The remains were brought to Waukon yesterday and the funeral takes place this afternoon at 1 o'clock from the Congregational church at Church, Rev.A. Kegel of this city officiating. Thus is another pioneer mother laid to rest, after a useful, well spent life, leaving after a memory that will ever be cherished by her children.
