He was born on April 18, 1911 on a farm about four miles north of Lansing, the son of James and Alty (Patterson) McKee. He married Evelyn Knopf on September 29, 1941. He is survived by his wife; five sons, Jim, Roy, Tom and Don of Lansing, and Bob of De Soto, Wis; Two daughters, Mrs. Albert (Carolyn) Russell of Mazomanie, WI, and Mrs. Bruce (Rita) Clark of Viroqua, WI, and 16 grandchildren. Also surviving are four brothers, Ernest and Cletus of Lansing, Cyril of Waukon, and Devillo of Caledonia, MN, and three sisters, Mrs. Louis (Drusilla) Johnson of Manchester, Mrs. Robert (Della) Reed of Lansing, and Mrs. Emmett (Aleatha) Johnson of Decorah. Funeral services were held on Tuesday, April 24 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic church. Rev. Robert Rahe officiated and burial was in Gethsemane cemetery. Pallbearers were James McKee, Tom McKee, Roy McKee, Bob McKee, Albert Russell and Scott Russell. The Burke-Thornburg funeral home was in charge of arrangements. Newpaper clipping

Feuerhelm, 70, well known custodian of the grade school in Waukon, were held last Wednesday with the Rev. William Heyer, Rushmore, Minn., in charge. Pallbearers were Mert Palmer, Harry Westerholm, Martin Martinson, Clarence Russell, Ben Feuerhelm and Clinton Dee. Oliver Nelson Feuerhelm, son of Charles and Margaret Feuerhelm, was born near Lansing, Iowa, on July 25, 1879 and passed away in his home in Waukon on August 28, 1949. Mr. Feuerhelm's early years were spent on Mays Prairie where he received his education in the rural school and where he grew to manhood. On December 17, 1902, he was united in marriage to Lydia Hagemeier. Upon establishing a new home Mr. Feuerhelm engaged in farming. He spent 29 years at this occupation in Minnesota, first at Luverne and then at Holland in Pipestone county. Mr. and Mrs. Feuerhelm came to Waukon to care for their aged parents. In 1943 they assumed the duties of janitor at the Waukon public school, where by patience and cooperation endeared them selves to the faculty and student body. Early in the year, Mr. Feuerhelm underwent an operation and from that time on, was confined to his home. Besides his loving wife, he leaves to mourn his passing four children, Archie of Waterloo, Howard of Albert Lea, Minn., Warren of Hartland, Minn., and Elthea (Mrs. Harold Giles) of St. Paul, Minn. Also there are six grandchildren and one great grandchild; six brothers and one sister: Will, Charles and Ethel (Parkinson) of California, John of Oklahoma, Ruele of Lake Park, Clarence of Lansing and Arthur of Waukon. Those attending from out of town were: Mr. and Mrs. Harold Giles, Beverly and Betty, St. Paul, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Warren Feuerhelm and Leonard Giles of Hartland, Minn.; Mr. & Mrs. Howard Feuerhelm and Wayne, Albert Lea, Minn.; Mrs. James Kuchera, Seattle, Wash.; Mr. and Mrs. Archie Feuerhelm, and Berdell, Waterloo; Mrs. Wesley Peterson and Mr. and Mrs. Paul Weigel, Albert Lea; Mr. and Mrs. Karl Neihause, and Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Giles and Darrel, New Richland, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Ruele Feuerhelm, Lake Park; Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Weatherwax, Charles City; Mrs. Wilfred Schafer, Austin, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Lester Giles, Minneapolis; Mrs James Graven, Green; Mr. and Mrs. Kermit Feuerhelm, Waterloo, and Mr. Eddie of Rushmore, Minn.

Roeber was born May 13, 1875 at Dorchester, Ia., so of Mr. and Mrs. William Roeber. At the age of eight he came to South Dakota with his parents, who homesteaded nine miles west of Tulare, S.D. He was baptized and confirmed in the Evangelical Lutheran church. In 1900 he married Gertrude Binger. To this union, two children were born, one son who died in infancy and one daughter. In 1908 he moved from his farm to Tulare where he was engaged in the blacksmithing business until he retired in 1946. He was a member of the Tulare town board for many years. For the last five years he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Mayme Meyer. He died quietly at 8:30 Tuesday morning, December 22, 1964, at the age of 89 years, seven months and nine days. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one son, two brothers and three sisters and one grandson. He leaves to mourn his passing, his daughter, Mrs. Henry (Mayme) Meyer; one grandson, Eugene Meyer; one granddaughter, Mrs. William (Delores) Koester; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Martin of Tulare and Louis of Osseo, Wis. He was born February 3, 1923, in Jefferson Township, Houston county, MN, to Otto and Elsie (Arndt) Somermeyer. He married Patricia Crowley, July 4, 1952, at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, IA. He was in the U.S. Navy where he served abroad. He was on the U.S.S. Chicago during World War II. He lived in Madison, WI, most of his life and retired to New Albin. He was a mem­ber of the Masonic Lodge and of the V.F.W., both in Madison. He was a retired heavy equip­ment operator and a member of Operating Engineers Local 139. Survivors are his wife; a son, Robert G. (Annie S.) of Madison, WI; two daughters, Mari­lyn Sue Moore and her husband Donald of Caledonia, MN, and Lisa Dawn Somermeyer of Madison, WI; eight grandchildren; two brothers, Orville Somer­meyer of Mount Pleasant, IA, and Milton Somermeyer of New Albin, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and two brothers. The body will be cremated. Memorial services were held Wednesday, March 27, at 1 p.m. at St. Peter's United Church of Christ, New Albin, IA. Rev. Nancy Anderson officiat­ed and burial will be in the City Cemetery. She was a member of Luther College Collegiate Choir, editor of Luther College's "Oneota" publi­cation, and was a lifetime member of Royal Neigh­bors of America. She was piano accompanist for many college music func­tions, and was a published writer in a national publi­cation. She was a member of Rossville Presbyterian Church. He attended ru­ral school in French Creek Township. A lifelong resident in the New Albin area, he farmed in Union City Township before retiring and moving to New Albin in 1979. He was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Eitzen, MN, and a member of the Senior Citizens Group, New Albin. Survivors include his wife, Bernice; a son, Burton, and his wife Jean of New Albin; one daughter, Joyce and her husband, Thomas Schroeder of Cal­edonia; three step-sons, Curtis Wild, Wendell Wild and David Wild, all of New Albin; and a step-daughter, Beverly Dressel­haus, New Albin; also, six grandchildren, ten step-grand­children, and three step-great­-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife and a sister. Funeral services were held Saturday, October 6, at 10:30 a.m. in Zion Evangelical Luthe­ran Church, Eitzen, MN. Pastor Anthony Straseske officiated. Burial was in the church cemet­ery. Pallbearers were Gary Dah­le, Curtis Wild, Dale Buntrock, Bruce Muenkel, Wendell Wild and Richard Wild.
