Is anyone aware of a cemetery called "Family." It is recorded in my gggrandmothers records she is buried in Family Cemetery. It is not in the Woodmansee records in Allamakee County. I suspect very strongly she is buried in Allamakee. Her husband is buried in Linton, Sixteen Cemetery and she was living in Linton in the 1880 census. They lived in the Volney area for years. Sincerely, Mike Peterson

Herman, a well known and highly respected resident of Waukon, passed away suddenly at her home in that city on Sunday morning, May 25th, aged 63 years. --John Campbell, Alamakee county farmer, passed away Monday from the effects of injuries received on Sunday, when he fell through the hay chute on his farm, falling about eight feet, striking on his head. He was 60 years old. --Donald Keefe, five years old, died in the Waukon hospital last Monday from a compound fracture of the skull sustained the Saturday evening previous when he was struck by an auto while crossing the street. Injury. --A sad affair occurred Monday at the Elmer Snitker home in Ludlow township, says the Waukon Democrat, when the little four-year-old son of the family was struck in the eye with a fork used by the children in digging angleworms to feed the chickens, the tines of the fork piercing the eyeball. He was taken to Rochester, where it was found necessary to remove that member. ------------- Sharyl Ferrall -Alaska-

Ole Hansen was born at Svebakken in Rengaboe, Norway, December 5, 1834 where he spent his boyhood, and was confirmed May 22, 1850. He sailed for America November 8, 1858, and six years later bought and settled on the old homestead in Paint Creek township. May 26, 1862, he was united in marriage with Ragneld Ellingsdatter Mehus or Sanderson. To this union were born ten children, the first three and the last having died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Adam Herman, died in 1913. His wife, preceded him in death April 25, 1911. Four sons, Hans and Peter still on the old home place, Ben and Otto of Waukon, and one daughter, Mrs. Andrew Nortome of Kalispell, Mont., live to survive the father. He was a hard worker and worked out his home from the timber with the other pioneers of Paint Creek township. He was a true citizen and a firm believer in the Christian religion. His ! health has been failing and the feebleness of old age gradually brought his life to a close and he entered his eternal home. I have just joined the list. My great great grnadmother Anna Margaret Plank was a daughter of Jacob B. Plank. She was born December 25, 1844 in Fowler, Indiana and died September 2, 1920 in Jacksonville, Florida. Anna married Charleroi (Charles) Everett on April 28, 1867 (location unknown). They are buried nest to each other in the Evergreen Cemetery in Jacksonville, Florida. Jacob B. Plank married Elizabeth Cline on August 16, 1838 in Carrol County, Indiana. I have found on a rootsweb site that Jacob and Elizabeth are buried in the Oakland-Main Cemetery in Makee Township, Iowa. Would like to try and verify this with copies of cemetery records, newspaper clipping or funeral home record. Would also like any information on when they came to Iowa and How many brothers or sisters Anna had. Have some infor on her brother Levi and a little on her sister Vashti. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can be reached at [email protected] Thank you for any help Harlo Everett, Jr.
