Before the verdict is made public it is impossible to get any reliable information. The air is full of rumors but we will not repeat them. Charles J. Hein was born the 20th of August 1849 in Kahls, Mecklenberg-Schwerin. He came to this country in 1871. He lived at Monjunct, Pa., Chicago, National, Ia., and settled in Grand Meadow twp., in 1878. Thanks Debra for the information on Hardin. I grew up on a farm about 1.5 miles north of Hardin and remember seeing the old hotel, then a home, when I was growing up. I appreciate knowing more about the history of the town. Grace Benjegerdes Keir

Accident. The 13 - year - old daughter of Otto Koehring of Ludlow sustained a serious accident last week, relates the Waukon Democrat, whereby both arms were fractured at the wrists. She was in the swing at school and swung out to quite a height when she lost her balance and fell head-foremost to the ground, striking on her hands and face with the above result. Roxanne was our CC from 1-20-1996 until the spring of 2001.
