I remember attending the funeral of Uncle Mack's wife (my great- uncle) Carrie, who was killed in an automobile accident in 1953. My grandmother was Uncle Mack's sister-- Annie Mae Hyde Secrest. Their parents were: Sarah Elmira Kennedy Emmons and Theodore C. Hyde. They moved from Wharton County, Texas to Kerr County in 1879 and settled on Indian Creek. Theodore C. Hyde's brother, BJ Hyde made the move at the same time with his family. Theodore C and BJ were born in Louisiana. Their fathers name was Benjamin J, but I haven't been able to track down his mother's name. Benjamin J was born in 1813 in Davidson County, TN. His parents were Benjamin Hyde and Milly Cherry and his ggparents were: John Henry Hyde and Rebecca Warren Hyde. If you can add anything to this, please let me know. I have lots more information also. Sarah Elmira Emmons was born in Lavaca County in 1855. Her father, Hiram Runnels Emmons was born in 1830 in Hinds County, MS. He married Missouri Tabitha Kennedy in 1852. They had four little girls and Missouri died in 1860 giving birth to the youngest. The four little girls were raised by Missouri's sister, Sarah Kennedy Townsend, and Hiram joined the Confederacy--3rd Texas (Yager) Cavalry.
