Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/4Yk.2ACIB/1149 Message Board Post: The following is taken from “History of Wakeman Township” compiled by Dr. F. E. Weeks ca 1938. This version is a typed copy of Weeks’ original manuscript with index, both done by Myron A. Allgood in 1988. Myron Allgood provided me with a photocopy of the above a few years before he died. The work is 146 pages, not counting the index. I presume that Allgood provided copies to the Ohio Genealogical Society in Mansfield, Ohio and the Huron County Historical Society. Few copies exist. Weeks also did a history of Clarksfield Township and covered local history in his paper, The Clarksfield Bee. The Ohio Genealogical Society has a photocopy of a scrapbook of historical articles from the Bee written by Weeks and letters about the past from residents and others who had moved away. Wakeman Township is in the north eastern corner of Huron County, Ohio. It is about 8 miles south of Lake Erie and 8 miles west of Oberlin, Ohio. This area is in what was the Firelands of the Connecticut Western Reserve. ******** Pg 88 “Hyde Genealogy Copied from Hyde Bible Oct. 29, 1724, Daniel Hyde married Deborah Perry Their son, Abijah, married Mary Holbrook. In any case it is quite confusing. However, Mrs. Merritt Hyde is Sally Boyd and Mrs. William Beers is her sister, Hannah Boyd. My conclusion is that the sisters seem to have had a brother named Frances and parents named Francis and Sally Boyd. The Beers family is profiled elsewhere in the book.] “Francis Boyd, father of Sally Boyd, born Dec 25, 1754, died 1844. Sally Boyd, born June19, 1757, died 1844. Francis Boyd had sisters, Mrs. Merritt Hyde and Mrs. William Beers, and daughters Mrs. Morris Canfield and Mrs. David S. Clark.”
