I'll be in Cork in Sept to do a bit of poking around and hope to stay near Ballyvourney. I have a fairly extensive family tree from this area with some rather large gaps. I posted earlier that I had a Cornelius Hyde (b. 1805). I now have the names of his brothers Michael, Dan, Timothy and John. Cors left Ballyvourney for Cahirnaeaha in 1841 and Michael in 1845. I also have names and births of their children however I do not have the brothers birth years. If anyone has any info on these families I'd love to share!

My G-Grandfathers name was James Henry Hyde. I have hit the brick wall with him. He is my paternal G-Grandfather. I cannot find out any info on him other than according to a 1930 census, he listed his parents baing born in Missouri (father) & Georgia (mother). My father says he was nick named "Bulger", no one knows why. There is a listing for a James H. "Bulger" Hyde, but it ends there. I emailed the person with no response. As far as I know, this is not my Hyde family. I stumbled across this book for sale at www.abe.com . "Memorial of Alvin Pinney Hyde Born March 10, 1825 Died February 5, 1894." I'm not sure that is the official title, but another statement contained in the ad is "an eminent member of Hartford, Connecticut Bar." The middle name of PINNEY is what intreged me. I am researching the PINNEY family from my father's side and I have some information on the HYDE family from my mother's side. Her HYDEs and his PINNEYs were both in Connecticut in "the beginning," but I have never seen a connection of the names before this. Does anyone have any information on this Alvin P HYDE?
