Surnames: Hutchcraft-Rhodes Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/VWk.2ACIB/120 Message Board Post: Two related questions: 1st, where did Harrison Hutchcraft, Sr. live when the 1850 Illinois Census was taken? I have confirmed that he lived in Wayne Co., IL in 1855 and 1860. I have an index listing for a Harrison Hutchcraft in Wayne Co. for 1840, but I have not gone further than that. 2nd, in part why I am asking the first question is because I am wondering when Mary Ann Rhodes was born. I seem to have conflicting reports. The 1860 Wayne Co. Census suggests abt 1825, but I have a Census Record for Alexander Hutchcraft (1870, White Co.) that lists a Mary Hutchcraft in residence, age 57. Assuming the latter Mary is Mary Ann, that would place her birth at about 1813, which probably coordinates better with the marriage date of 1838. Thanks, Ian R. Ian, Are your distant Hutchcraft descendants related to Alexander HUTCHCRAFT son of Harrison Sr.? Harrison Sr. is my g g grandfather.He was born 1812/1815 in either KY or IL. He died in Nov, 1864 probably in Carmi, White Co. IL. He had a daughter Mary born 1849 Some information says that Mary Ann "Waccababa" Rhodes was born in 1824 in either KY or NC. Alexander is my g grandfather, He was born May 1851 in Macedonia, IL and died Mar. 1894 in Macedonia. He had a daughter, Mary born 1873/74 but she certainly wouldn't be 57 in the census that you have. I would be very interested in the information that you have gathered on the Census that you have, if you would be willing to share. I have no census information for Harrison Sr. I have 1880 Census info for Alexander and his family.
