Wife Eva (Boster) children: Denzil, Arthur, Robert, Harold. Eva should appear in the 1920 census but died prior to the 1930 census. Harold (my father) wouldn't be in the 1920 census, but in the 1930 census. Any ideas? Peace, Veronica Hutchcraft Hess
Hi, Joe, wonder why she is not listed (in the index) in Edna's book? Hope this finds its way to the original researcher on this line. My grandfather, Thomas, lived in Jacksonville, IL as long as I can remember. My birthdate, January 12, 1936. I do remember visiting at Aunt Savella's a couple of times in the middle 1940's. When we went "down south" we would most generally stay at Uncle Luther and Aunt Elsie's (Hutchcraft) home - Dahlgren, IL. Their children, James, Gilbert, Phillip, Fred and Helen Ruth - I remember very well. We also visited frequently with Aunt Susie (I can't recall her married name at the present). Her 2 daughters - Norrie and Esther. Esther was married to Austin Eggers. I can't recall Norrie's husband's name right now. I am thrilled to see your message and hope to hear from you soon. Grandpa didn't share very much family information with us - and we didn't ask questions. Hope to hear from you soon! Marilyn Huthcraft Klockenga 1235 Richland Avenue Lincoln, IL 62656
Gail, Hester Hutchcraft was the daughter of Young and Mahulda Hutchcraft. Joe
Hester Hutchcraft is NOT included in the Hutchcraft's of American by Edna Welling - nor do I have anything on her in my data base. Good luck to you. IL with her young son and probably her parents. These appear in the transcribed census records that are free on the internet. If you haven't use them before, let me know and I'll send the url to you. I have done some work on the HUTCHCRAFT line and never knew who this woman married. Ancestry lists 2 Jones (duplicates) in White Co. but the link did not directly take me to that page. Sue FL Sue

Charles disappears after the 1860 census, @ age 9..... would be 19 in the 1870 census; but cannot locate. OK - now, I have another lead on my 1871 marriage. March 30 1871 Hamilton County Il (it is listed in their index book at the courthouse in McLeansboro; however, the records are missing!) Charles Hutchcraft wed Mary Jane Drew Can anyone check either of these books for more information? Gail Hahn Hutchcraft [email protected] Ford County, Il volunteer
My husband just learned in Hamilton County courthouse that records for 1871 (marriages) and surrounding years are missing from the courthouse - stolen, they say. Does anyone have any idea where to check next for a wedding that took place in HCI in March of 1871? Charles Hutchcraft and Mary Jane Drew? [email protected]

I have been down there four times since July, fishing. HA HA. She lives on banks of current river where the water is as clear as glass. You can see a fish for 50 yards - ......." "....still clerk in Hardware Store where I been for almost 5 years...I make $41.50 3week; but I just draw $35 as US gets the $6.50 because I am a batchler." ."...your Brother, Wm. L. Dear List Members, I just ran across an interesting Website, "Courthouse Experiences" http://www.bcpl.net/~dmg/courthouse.htm Not every county is listed, but the ones listed gave helpful information regarding the attitudes of those working in the courthouses. I might suggest that if you have had a positive or negative courthouse experience you add them to this site. I now know how to prepare myself for several courthouses I want to visit later this year.
