Author: tlspears1959 Surnames: BOHART Classification: queries Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/surnames.hutchcraft/120.1.1.1.1/mb.ashx Message Board Post: What is your BOHART connection? I am researching these three Peter Bohart lines 1) Peter Bohart from Carrol County, OH, 2) Peter Bohart from Henrysville, IN 3) Peter Bohart from Campbell County, KY. The three lines have yet to be connected. My line is the last of the three lines to arrive in America. Peter immigrated from Gersbach, Bavaria about 1849 at about the age of 13. Gersbach is a former village now a part of the larger city of Pirmasens which is near the French border not far from Strausbourg. Pirmasens is in the lower part of the Rhine Pfalz - about 7 miles north of the French border. From about 1792 to about 1815 the area belonged to France. 3. Rootsweb has changed the Hutchcraft list to new servers beginning today. The new list names will be the same [email protected] Note the L has been removed. Old address [email protected] New address: [email protected] If you have filters, you should set them to allow mail from the list as: [email protected] Both email addresses will still work for a while for sending e-mail but you may not receive it if you don't change it in your address book Remember those on the digest mode send their email to the new address of [email protected] Digest numbers will be out of sequence during the change over. A note for those members using AOL - there might a temporary delay in receiving list mail (on AOL's end). Make sure you check your spam folders, if you find any list mail there, click the THIS IS NOT SPAM button and read your mail in your inbox so the filters will be trained in regard to the new server. The main changes will be on my side in the Utility pages. Let me know if you have any concerns or questions. If I can't answer them, will find out the answer for us. I appreciate each of you and your understanding as we go through this change over. Kathleen Burnett List Mom

    2. Have you located the obits you were going to send? Any and all Hutchcraft's - PLEASE! Also, do you have any old photo's of this family? Gail Hutchcraft [email protected] Ford County, Il. genealogy volunteer ----- Original Message ----- From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Sent: Thursday, June 22, 2006 4:13 PM Subject: Re: Frost Hutchcraft Gail, I'm sorry to be so long getting back to you. As much as I like genealogy I am often unable to spend time on it. I'm not exactly sure where we left off, but I have compiled a list of questions about the Hutchcraft family. I think I told you I have over thirty news items to share. Do you have the death date and place for Mary H. 'Mollie' Jones (Oct 1837-), w/o John H. Hutchcraft (1824-1889)? I understand that John H. and Mary (Jones) Hutchcraft had 8 children: Clifford: Have his birth/death dates/places info, as well as burial location. Charles: I need the birth/death dates/places for his wives and their names/surnames; obits. Have census records. Frost: Need his death date (have only year); obits. Have a census record, many news items, pics of his wife and some children (Dorwin married my aunt). Lula: Need birth/death dates/places for her and for any spouse she may have had. John: Need birth/death dates/places for him and for any spouse he may have had. Gussie: Need birth/death dates/places for her and for any spouse she may have had. Have possible marriage news item. Reuben: Need birth/death dates/places for him and for any spouse he may have had. Have news items. James: Need birth/death dates/places for him and for any spouse he may have had. Have copy of WWI draft reg card. The DSC recipient I would like to know more about is Reuben Brent Hutchcraft Jr., who was killed in WWI. I understand there is a story about him but cannot locate it anywhere. Following is a transcription of the first news article I have for Reuben, s/o JH, transcribed exactly as written. How would you like me to send these? By email attachment or within the email message itself? Sherman, Tex., Aug. 4 [1892].— . . . A man by the name of Brooks, who gives his place of residence as Fort Worth, was put in jail this evening upon a warrant sworn out by Rube Hutchcraft, who says that the defendant lost $70 in a game in which he (Hutchcraft) was employed and that failing to borrow any money he (Brooks) drew a razor and made a grab at the bank roll, taking the money he had lost, then standing the house off. When taken to the jail he had $70 in his pockets. Will surely appreciate your help with my questions! Having only the year of birth or death is somewhat helpful, but I would naturally like to have full information for all of the above. As I said, I am very happy to share. Leah

It lists her parents as John Tubbs and Jane Bigim or Bigum. I do know she was married to Richard Bramlett and had at least two children by him. According to the Illinois marriage index, when Rachel married Bramlett her last name was Dawson. So we are thinking that our gggrandfather was her third marriage. I have birth records for some of the children and it lists Susie Bramlett Whittenberg Hediger as her fourth child. I do know Susie's brother William D. Bramlett died in 1880 and was the third child. We do not know if her first two children were Bramlets or Dawsons. About all the census info indicates she was from Arkansas, stories I have heard is she was Cherokee Indian and adopted by John Tubbs. I do have a picture of Rachel Tubbs if you would like a copy e-mail me and I will e-mail you the picture.
